Saving a file from the Internet to your computer
If you want to transfer a file from the Internet to your computer, so that you can access it even if you are not online, follow these simple steps.
When you are online on a site, find the link or button that will allow you to transfer the file to your computer (this process is also called "downloading") and click on it.
In absence of a download button, put the cursor (the arrow you see on the screen) on the file, then click the right button on the mouse and click on "Save As" on the menu that will appear.
While using the Chrome browser, you will be able see how much of the file is downloaded at the bottom of the screen. How much time a file will take to download will depend on the size of the file.
Once the download is complete, click on it to open your file.
Not all files on the Internet are safe to download. The Chrome browser automatically checks whether a file is harmful or not before saving it on your computer.
