Moving files from one computer to another

See how you can transfer files or photos from one computer to another without using the Internet, by using something called a pen drive or an external hard disk.

Step-by-step Instructions

Insert your storage device into the USB port on your computer.

Double-click on “My Computer” on your desktop (or click on the “Start” button at the bottom left of your screen and select “My Computer”).

A new hard drive should show up as available. This hard drive is often called “Removable Disk”. Double-click on “Removable Disk” to access it.

You can copy files from the pen drive to your computer by dragging them from the folder to your desktop.

You can also copy files from the computer onto your pen drive, if you have space on your pen drive.

When you have finished using the pen drive, right click on the drive at the bottom right of your screen and select “Eject“. Now you can safely unplug the pen drive from your computer.
